What's New?
SOL Tracker is an evolving software program. In response to the needs of our customers, as well as changes issued from the Department of Education, Harcourt-Brace and other sources, the makers of SOL Tracker attempt to keep the software up to date, functional and as easy-to-use as possible.

This list chronicles changes that may affect SOL Tracker. They are listed in order of most recent nearest the top of the list.

Jan 6, 2004 Version 4.0 is officially released.  Please contact Successline to obtain a copy.  Refer to the entry below for details on what's new in version 4.0.
Dec 2003 Version 4.0 is in the final stages of beta testing and its anticipated release is in January 2004.  Please contact Successline for purchase or upgrade information.  Version 4 has had many additions and improvements to keep up with the ever-changing testing environment, including:
  • New Graphics and a Customizable User Interface

  • No Child Left Behind/Annual Yearly Progress (AYP) Features Added

  • Guidance Counselor Features Added

  • Improved Reporting Functionality

  • Newer Data Fields that are Now Imported

  • Importing of Harcourt Alternate Assessment Data

  • Importing of Supplemental Data Directly from SASIxp

  • Significantly Improved Import Times

  • Software Updates are Now Easier to Implement

  • Filtering Now Allowed on the Student Demographics Information Screen

Aug 15, 2003 Version 3.1c is released.  This revision specifically adds a report to assist users with filling out the DOE's Project Graduation Survey.  There are also other report-related fixes included.  Please contact Successline to obtain a copy.
July 7, 2003 Version 3.1a is released.  This revision accommodates changes made by Harcourt to one of the fields that SOL Tracker uses to uniquely identify an import file.  This revision is required in order to import End-of-Course data from Spring 2003.  Please contact Successline to obtain a copy.
Mar 17, 2003 A re-release of the Version 3.1 CD is being issued by Successline.  This is primarily due to recent changes to the Modified Standard Diploma requirements, plus to fix a few problems with reports.  If you purchased the v3.1 upgrade, and have not received your replacement copy, please contact Successline. This replacement copy will be labeled "Version 3.1 (Build 2)".
Feb 10, 2003 SOL Tracker Version 3.1 is released.  Please contact Successline to obtain a copy.  This version addresses many recent state-mandated changes in SOL testing, including:
  • Allows different graduation requirements for the Transitional ("2+4") period

  • Allows you to grant Locally Awarded Verified Credits and have them count towards graduation requirements in the system

  • Adds the Modified Standard Diploma

  • Handles the special circumstances created by Electronic Testing and Expedited Re-Takes and how the state counts this data toward school pass rates

  • plus many more additions and improvements

Oct 8, 2002 The SOL Tracker Maintenance Guide is available for download.  
Aug 5, 2002 Version 3.0f is released.  This revision is designed to simplify many maintenance-related issues within the software.  Please contact Successline to obtain a copy.
Feb 11, 2002 Version 3.0d is released.  This essential upgrade compensates for changes made to the Harcourt-Brace Fall 2001 End-of-Course pupil layouts that prevented previous copies of the software from identifying these files.  Please see here for more details.  If you have not received yours within a week of the release date, please contact Successline.
Aug 24, 2001 Version 3.0b is released.  This revision incorporates necessary changes for importing Spring 2001 Multiple-Choice SPBQ, as well as updated reports and other changes.  If you have not received yours within a week of the release date, please contact Successline.
Aug 24, 2001 The Test Formats for Spring 2001 End-of-Course and Multiple Choice (Grades 3/5/8) Student Performance by Question are now available for download.  These formats are available here and you can load them with the Load Formats utility within SOL Tracker.  Note that these formats require Version 3.0b in order for Multiple-Choice SPBQ to import properly.
July 14, 2001 A re-release CD is being issued by Successline to correct two problems (see here and here) with the original release.  If you have not received your replacement copy by July 19th, please contact them.  This replacement copy will be labeled "Version 3.0a (Build 2)".

Version 3.0 is released.  Please contact Successline to obtain a copy.  Please note that at the time of release, Harcourt-Brace has not finalized data formats for the Spring 2001 End-of-Course SPBQ and Multiple Choice SPBQ data.  These formats will be made available here when they are released, and you will be able to load them into Version 3.0 through the Load Formats utility within the software.
Spring 2001 Version 3.0 is currently in Beta testing.  We anticipate its release within a few weeks of the Spring data being released.  New features will include:
  • Integration of new Student Performance by Question data

  • Importing data from UNISCORE disks

  • Integrated user-level Security

  • Faster report generation

  • One-click Data File backup and restore

  • Faster installation program

  • Plus, more reports (many requested by users)

January 20, 2000 2000 State/District averages are now available to load into SOL Tracker.  You may download them here.
August 23, 2000 The DAT File Viewer utility is available for free download. This utility allows you to look directly into a Harcourt-Brace data file to see the various fields. You may download this utility here  
August 14, 2000 Revision 2 of SOL Tracker version 2.0 is released.  This revision fixes a few problems that existed with the new Transfer field not properly importing.
June 19, 2000 SOL Tracker version 2.0 is released.
January 2000 Revision 3 for Version 1.0 is released. This free revision adds a new utility for merging multiple duplicate student records, refines a few more features, and fixes a few minor problems with some utilities. If you are not sure if you have this revision, go to the About screen within the software. If the Revision is lower than 3, contact Successline to obtain a free update program. Revision 3 contains all changes from Revisions 1 & 2.

Dec 15, 1999

New State/District SOL Averages disks for 1998 and 1999 released to correct erroneous English Writing Grade 5 and English Writing Grade 8 district averages. You may also download the latest State/District SOL Averages disks here.

November 1999

Revision 2 for Version 1.0 is released. This free revision adds several reports, adds a few more features, and fixes a few minor problems with some utilities. If you are not sure if you have this revision, go to the About screen within the software. If the Revision is lower than 2, contact Successline to obtain a free update program.

October 1999

SOL Tracker finishes beta testing and Version 1.0 is released.

August 1999

DOE releases draft regulations for SOL remediation. The tracking of remedial students and associated utilities are added to SOL Tracker software.

June 1997

Work begins on creating SOL Tracker.
