SOL Tracker
Frequently Asked Questions

Summary:

A new school in our district administered SOL tests.  How can we add the new school to SOL Tracker, and do we need to re-import the Harcourt data for that school after it is added?

Details:

Successline can provide a New School Disk that you can use in order to add a new school to the list of schools within SOL Tracker.  Please contact them and provide the official school code, school name and the grade levels taught at the school.  When you receive the disk from them, you can load it by following these steps:
  1. Open SOL Tracker and go to the Utilities screen.
  2. Click on Data Utilities.
  3. Select the Edit List of Schools tabbed page.
  4. Click on the Add School from Disk button.
  5. Insert the New School Disk and click on OK.  If the file was emailed to you, you can copy it to a floppy disk first, or you can click on CANCEL when prompted to insert a disk and browse for the file.

Please note that if the new school has purchased a site license for SOL Tracker, the school's License Disk will add the new school to the list at the time of licensing.  However, the district-level copy, plus any other school copies, must use the New School Disk to add them to their system.  Also note that this information is stored within the Data File, so if multiple copies of SOL Tracker at a site are connected to the same networked Data File, only one user needs to use the New School Disk.

Harcourt data that is imported at the district-level will go into the system as long as the district code within the data matches the importer's district code.  This means that the new school's data was likely imported into the system.  However, until the new school is added to the list, it is not visible on screens or reports.  This is due to the way in which SOL Tracker links data within the system, and a missing school "hides" the data.  As soon as the new school is added, the data should become visible.
